I recently bought a set of Eufy S3 Pro solar cameras so wanted to show a few pictures of them from my yard.
While I can’t speak to longevity of the solar components yet, setup was easy and WiFi strength seems to be really excellent. This seems to be a huge improvement from my previous experience with trying out solar outdoor cameras from Arlo, Ring, and Simplisafe.
Here’s a deer in my backyard:
Here’s a coyote walking up my driveway (I live in the suburbs). The coyote acts pretty chill the few times I’ve seen it in person (if it’s the same one).
Here’s a raccoon:
The system on the whole seems pretty good, and the quality of the night vision is pretty impressive (though I’ve got some solar flood lights in the above pictures also).
It has some (local) face detection that can help label people sometimes and each camera can be set to not record videos and send notifications for certain types of things (like cars, people, “pets” and so on).
“Pets” it detects can also include crows and squirrels, but only if they are close enough to the camera, and at night time it records all motion to avoid not recording something if the classifier didn’t work, which is smart and also what I want it to do.
I haven’t included some videos of opossums and foxes but also have some of those.
The boxes come with mounts for screwing cameras to the wall, though you can find stake mounting systems online.
